My experience of working in a book club : Lessons Learned

When reflecting on the experiences encountered within the book club, I came to the conclusion that the value of a book club is based on the reason for the existence of that book club.  If you are a reading enthusiast and interested in discovering different things while reading, then what a book club can achieve for you is immeasuarable.  If you are student (such as I am) and have textbooks, assignments, tests to contend with on a weekly basis, you hardly have time for leisure reading.  So, what purpose would being in a book club serve?  It is more reasonable to form a study group instead, as that will help you achieve your weekly obligations. It is therefore my conclusion that scheduling time in this book club was both time consuming and achieves things which are not for our immediate benefit.

  1. i agree with you there it is easier to complete a book or tasks when we are in our book clyb as we help each other through the alocation of the different points and aspects of the book.

  2. i personaly think that starting a book club is a great idea as we future teachers we need to be regular readers so that we can rub the spirot of readind of our learners, with that said i also think that when you are a student it is not easy to be part of a book club, like Tsakani said we have a lot of work to do on weekly basis but we just need to workn on our time manangment and then we will be able to read more and post more on our blog.

  3. Starting a book club is something important since we are future we can help both school and especially the society to achieve more.Iam focusing on the society because there lots of dropupouts who are sitting in the streets doing nothing. Is true that we can complete our task when we are working in our club.Time management is important because we have lots of things to do daily,so sometimes we have a chance to continue reading books. My suggest is that we can have a book club in future even after we graduate.
